BCDCOG Mobility Study

The purpose of this Mobility Study is to provide the city with the guidance and resources needed to inform them on future decision making related to improving safety, accessibility, and connectivity around the island. A safe, well-connected network of streets, sidewalks, bike facilities, and off-road paths can provide greater mobility for people to access jobs, schools, shops, dining, parks, beaches, community centers, and other public spaces. These connections are vital for the ongoing social, economic, and physical health and success of the community.

The main components of this study will be to:

  1. Assess the existing conditions of IOP’s current infrastructure
  2. Identify any gaps in the network to/from popular destinations
  3. Gather public input needs
  4. Identify projects based on a needs assessment
  5. Provide the City with a set of prioritized projects and recommendations to be implemented in the future as funding becomes available
