Update on 2026 Offshore Beach Renourishment Project

July 23, 2026 – Marinex has now installed approximately 9,000 feet of pipeline, with about 2,000 feet remaining before dredging operations and sand placement on the beach can begin.

Installation has been delayed by rough offshore weather, which has prevented crews from completing the final section of pipeline. Current forecasts indicate a favorable weather window this weekend, allowing the remaining pipeline to be installed.

If conditions remain favorable, sand pumping is expected to begin on Monday, July 27.

In preparation for construction activities, nighttime sea turtle monitoring will begin Friday, July 25. Environmental monitors will survey the beach each night to help protect nesting sea turtles throughout the renourishment project.
