May 14, 2026 – In a special session of City Council on May 12, the City awarded the full 2026 beach renourishment project to Marinex.
Marinex will start on the northern end of the Island, and work their way South. A map of the construction areas are available on our website.
We should start to see mobilization late May to early June, and expect to see the first sand placement mid to late June.
If you are a beachfront propery owner and have signed your easement, the project will continue as planned in front of your property. Properties that haven’t signed their easement agreement would not get sand placed in front of their homes.
