October 1, 2026 – Marinex is currently pumping sand in front of Seagrove Lane and has now placed more than 540,000 cubic yards of sand in Reach 2, bringing this phase of the project past the halfway point.
Dredging is expected to continue through the weekend. On Monday, Marinex plans to move the dredge to safe harbor ahead of a forecasted nor’easter that could affect the area for approximately five days.
Despite the anticipated weather delay, construction remains on track for Reach 2 to be completed by mid-October.
During periods when dredging is paused for several days, Marinex will reduce the size of its active construction footprint whenever possible to maximize the amount of beach available to the public.
The City is also preparing for sand fencing and dune planting which will take less than a week to install once our contractor is mobilized.
