Update on 2026 Offshore Beach Renourishment Project

July 20, 2026 – The beach renourishment project has experienced a slight delay due to weather.

Marinex has successfully installed approximately 9,000 feet of the 11,000-foot pipeline needed to transport sand from the dredge to the beach. However, high winds prevented crews from completing the remaining section. The dredge is fully mobilized and ready to begin operations as soon as the final portion of the pipeline is in place.

If weather conditions cooperate, Marinex expects to complete the remaining pipeline around this weekend (~7/25) and begin pumping sand onto the beach shortly afterward (~7/27).

As a result, the start of sand placement is now expected to be delayed by approximately one week from the original schedule. The City will continue to monitor progress closely and provide updates as the project advances.
