“Doody Calls” Installation on Waterway Boulevard and Breach Inlet

With the completion of the IOP Waterway Boulevard multi-use path elevation project, the Public Works department has installed ten Doody Calls dog waste stations along the boulevard, as well as one at Breach Inlet.

Waste Stations

Water quality testing by the IOP Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) earlier this year confirmed that dog waste was a major source of contamination in water outfalls along Waterway Boulevard. The EAC plans to do follow-up water quality testing at the Waterway Boulevard outfalls in 1-2 years to see if the Doody Calls installations are making a positive reduction in dog waste contamination.

The waste stations start at 21st Avenue on Waterway Boulevard, and continue every two blocks up to 41st Avenue. The one installed at Breach Inlet is on the beach path.

Stations will be serviced once a week, every Monday.
