April 2, 2026 - Beachfront property owners who abut a section of the beach that is scheduled to undergo a renourishment starting in the summer of 2026 were invited to meet with City staff, attorneys, and coastal consultants to learn about the 2026 Beach Renourishment Project, and specifically, the easements that the City is working to secure.
Most of the 2026 renourishment project will take place seaward of the mean high-water line, but some work will extend onto privately owned land. Where it does, the City needs a legal agreement (called an easement) to place sand and build dunes along those portions of the beach.
